DRB Website Connect™ Extends Marketing Reach and Increases Revenue with Online Sales

Every year, more sales are being made online, not just for products, but for services too, like Fandango for movie tickets and OpenTable for restaurant reservations. Customers buy services online for the same reason they turn to the Internet for products: speed, convenience, and privacy. A report from Business Insider indicates that “The number of online shoppers has grown by nearly 20 million from 2015 to 2016. And these 224 million shoppers are spending more, as the total amount spent online grew from $61 billion in the first quarter of 2015 to $68 billion in Q1 2016.”

Jon Zimmerman, owner of Jilly’s Car Wash (Brookfield, Elm Grove and Pewaukee, WI) has been selling wash services through his website with DRB Website Connect for two years and has found it to be a tremendous marketing tool. 50% of Jon’s unlimited sales are started online, with the sale ultimately closing at the wash when the customer picks up the FastPass®. Jon feels that his unlimited plans sold better because customers had the time-saving option of starting the purchase online, instead of handling the whole transaction at the wash.

Jon states that 99% of his online sales are Unlimited Plans and Gift Cards. He also says that the Gift Card sales are most definitely additional revenue. At Christmas Jon ran a Cyber Monday sale, offering a free wash with a gift card purchase – results of the promotion were phenomenal. Christmas, as well as Father’s Day, saw a surge of last-minute gift card sales too – sales that most likely would not have incurred without DRB Website Connect.

Jilly’s has signage onsite and distributes brochures promoting his website and online sales. Wash employees are trained to promote and sell plans with the tagline…“no contracts, cancel online anytime.”

Jon says this makes it easier to get the sale in the first place, and then he doesn’t have to have an uncomfortable conversation with a customer later should he want to opt out of the plan. Customers can cancel online or in person, but most will use the online method.
