Getting Social with Customers Pays Dividends

There are a lot of cool ideas floating around about marketing with social media, but what's really cool is when someone actually puts some of those new concepts into practice in our car wash industry.

That's why Rich is so excited about what the folks at GEM Auto Wash are doing with Facebook, Foursquare and other social media platforms. Case in point: GEM recently got about a thousand customers to receive its weekly text marketing messages. The 20% redemption rate it's enjoying with this promotion shows how today's new marketing tools can yield impressive results.

I like to tell people that there are two basic things technology can do for a car wash: increase revenues and save time. A good example of this principle in action can be found at the Platinum Car Washes in West Jordan and Draper, Utah.


Like everyone, I've been awed by the rapid growth of social media as an advertising tool. Since social media has grown so fast, a lot of businesses are still feeling their way around it.
