More Cool Things

Judy Dunn

I've been privileged to work with a lot of good operators and one of the things I've noticed about all of them is that they never stop trying to save their customers time. This is why I'm so impressed with what Bob Yund did recently at Yund's Busy Bee Carwash & Detail in Massillon, Ohio.

Busy Bee is a well-known carwash with a great reputation in its market. As a result, it's always gotten a lot of fleet customers. In fact, about 6% of the wash's volume is in fleet accounts.

With fleet customers representing such a significant share of his volume, Bob is always looking for ways to process them more efficiently. He found one with SiteWatch® FastPass® and the Xpress Pay Terminal® (XPT®).

Shortly after installing XPTs at his site, Bob switched fleet customers from using vehicle codes to FastPass tags. Now fleet customers just pull up to an unattended XPT lane, have their FastPass tags read in less than three seconds, then go on their way to the tunnel, without lowering their windows or having to interact with an employee.

By using FastPass tags, Bob has made the experience at Busy Bee easier and faster for his fleet customers. The FastPass tags have saved time for everyone else too, since other customers no longer have to wait behind fleet account vehicles while an employee rings up a fleet wash. Plus, the use of FastPass technology has given Bob's wash a trend-setting image with all customers.

I think it's very cool when an experienced and successful operator like Bob takes some progressive steps to take care of his customers faster. This commitment to service is really what keeps the best carwashes on top.
